Tri Nations Tour

This tour will get you eye level with different cultures and peoples. Starting in the City of Gold, we move Northeast to Mpumalanga, a biker’s Paradise; Flowing curves, beautiful landscapes and friendly people. We go on Safari and hope to find the Big 5. Then it goes to the Kingdom of Swaziland. A grandiose place with very friendly locals. We continue to the tribe of the Zulus. In St. Lucia we will take a boat trip to discover crocodiles and hippos. From St. Lucia via Underberg to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. The spectacular Sani Pass awaits us and what a challenge…

On the way to the north we cross the Golden Gate National Park before we head back to Johannesburg again.

Day 01

Whoever arrives today will be collected at the airport and brought to the Hotel. In the evening there will be a tour briefing. (D)

Day 02

Johannesburg- Pretoria- Dullstroom  285 km

This morning we receive our motorcycles and after a briefing regarding local traffic customs we head for Pretoria. At the seat of government, the Union Buildings we take a group picture before taking the highway and country lanes to our first destination in Dullstroom. (B+D)

Day 03

Dullstroom- Hazyview  279 km

Today is motorcycle weather. The Lowveld calls. The routes are curvy, the landscape terrific. This is Cultural Heartland. Today we visit the Blyde River Canyon in all its glory. Via Graskop it goes on to today’s final destination, Hazyview. (B+D)

Day 04

Rest day

We will go on a Safari in the hope to get a glimpse of the Big 5. The rest of the day is at your liberty. (B+D)

Day 05

Hazyview- Swaziland  371 km

A big riding day awaits us. The first leg takes us from Hazyview to Sabie up the famous 22. The name comes from a section of this route: 22 km with 70 turns. There are many legends surrounding this route. Then we continue to the tranquil Kaapsehoop, a small community high in the mountains. It is sparsely populated by hippies, conservationists, artists and those who think they are. There are wild horses in the middle of the city and on the streets. A relaxed atmosphere. After a coffee break, we now attack the border crossing. Welcome to Swaziland. (B+D)

Day 06

Swaziland – St. Lucia  345 km

We continue Southeast, leaving Swaziland to roll into St. Lucia in the afternoon. This place is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Tonight we will take part in a sunset cruise and see crocodiles and hippos. Attention: The traffic signs warning of hippos are not just a tourist attraction. (B+D)

Day 07

Rest day

Today’s day is at your leisure. Book an optional tour in Umfolozi / Hluhluwe National Park, or go whale watching. In any case, there are plenty of restaurants and pubs that invite you to stop by. (B+D)

Day 08

St. Lucia – Underberg  440 km

After a restful day we hit the road again. First along the coastline of the Indian Ocean before heading Northwest towards Underberg. This quaint little town is nestled on the foot of the Drakensberg, the Gateway to our Adventure… Sani Pass. (B+D)

Day 09

Underberg- Clarens 303 km

Here and today is the most exciting, hardest and most unpredictable part of our tour. If the weather is good, it should not be too much of a problem, however, if the weather is bad… Let’s leave it at that. You can reward yourself with a beer in Africa’s highest pub, should we have made the ascent. The final destination of this stage today is Clarens. (B+D)

Day 10

Clarens- Johannesburg 398 km

After yesterday, everything is a breeze today. We ride through the picturesque Golden Gate National Park and then turn North. Now it is our final sprint. We drive past the water reservoir of Johannesburg, the Vaal Dam before we reach our hotel again. We hope you had a wonderful tour that left deep impressions. We look forward to seeing you on one of our other tours in the near future. In the afternoon we hand in our motorcycles. (B+D)

Day 11

Hotel- Airport

We prepaid the Hotel shuttle that will take you to the airport. Just enquire at reception about the scheduled departure times. We wish you a safe journey home. If you would like to extend your stay why not have a look on our website under Tour Extensions;  Our partner Samba Tours would be delighted to be of assistance. (B)
